West End Garden Community Apartments, Brisbane

This project is a large-scale mixed-use commercial and residential development created and presented through a powerful partnership between renowned Australian developers Payce and Sekisui House Australia. Its scale is four times that of Payce's East Village in Zetland, Sydney (a key development precinct near the CBD).

The project's design team drew inspiration from many of the world's most captivating cities — including New York, Copenhagen and Barcelona — to create this landmark complex. The historic former Peters' Ice Cream Factory sits at its heart, blending rich heritage with contemporary style to bring exciting new elements to the vibrant and colourful West End precinct.

The project covers 26,000 m². The first stage is nearing completion and will deliver 1,200 apartments, retail shops and a cultural and entertainment zone. The project will be built across 3 stages: Stage 1 makes up 40% of the total site area and will be completed by the end of 2018. Retail and the next residential building will be delivered in Stage 2, with completion expected in 2020.
