Chinese affluent suburb: Rochedale house community

Feature 1: Prime location
Rochedale, Brisbane, is one of the hottest emerging affluent suburbs in southern Brisbane in recent years. Located in the south-east of Brisbane, close to the Pacific Motorway and the Gateway Motorway, it sits just 15 km from the Brisbane CBD. Adjacent to the south side's largest shopping centres, Westfield Garden City and Carindale Westfield, it is one of the newest local affluent suburbs closest to the Sunnybank Chinese community hub. Rochedale is the last remaining contiguous parcel of house-development land to the south of Brisbane, making it an extremely scarce resource for investment and owner-occupation.

Feature 2: Regional growth and infrastructure
As part of the M1 upgrade from Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill, Rochedale will get its own new bus station and a park-and-ride transit centre with capacity for more than 400 cars. The transit centre will connect to Gardner Road in the heart of Rochedale, and footpaths and cycling routes will also be upgraded. The transit centre is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

Brisbane's highly anticipated light-rail project, delivered by the government at a cost of A$944 million. Metro 1 will become a main line connecting the southern suburbs with the CBD. Along the way it will pass major destinations including Griffith University, Garden City and the University of Queensland. At the same time, the line will give passengers the opportunity to transfer to other trains, buses or ferries in the CBD.

Feature 3: Abundant education resources
The area is home to the renowned south-side private school Redeemer Lutheran College (score 99) and Rochedale State School (score 98). It is a 10-minute drive from Citipointe Christian College and just 8 km from Griffith University.

Feature 4: Beautiful neighbourhood setting
The area boasts an exceptionally high rate of green coverage, with parks and greenery everywhere. New streets and a wonderful variety of beautiful houses make the whole area even more delightful.
